Georgia Milestones testing will begin the Wednesday we come back from Spring Break! Here is a link to a Study Guide you can use at home: https://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Documents/Milestones/Study-Resource%20Guides/StudyGuide_Gr5_s15GA-EOG_12-02-15.pdf.
If you would like to send in a bag of individually wrapped mints, Jolly Ranchers, or hard candies for the students to have during Milestones testing, they would appreciate it!
We had Science Days this week to help review for the Milestones.
International Night is tonight at McCall Primary School, 6:00 – 7:30 PM. There is a reminder note with information about parking in your folder. Hope to see you there!
Fifth grade students will go on a picnic at Kenworth Park at the end of the year, sponsored by the Optimists’ Club. Students need to write a paper as their “ticket” to the picnic. We have been working on this paper in class, but they can also work on it at home. The topic is “Lead by Example,” and they have come up with some great ideas! All papers were due today, but if you didn’t turn it in, tomorrow is your last chance!
We will have 2 Cultural Arts programs tomorrow – ask your child about the Military Band and the Glass Harp Musician that will perform for us.
Next week, April 4 – 8, is Spring Break. I hope you all have a safe and relaxing week! Spring Break passes to Sparkles were passed out today. Don’t forget to do some reading and First in Math! And come back refreshed and ready to show how much you know on your Milestones! J
What we are studying:
Reading – finding evidence in a text to support an author’s point of view
Writing – Wind Energy essays- opinion writing
Math – coordinate plane, coordinate grids, patterns. Test is tomorrow. Students have known since Monday.
Science – cells and microorganisms.
