Sophie was player of the day for First in Math this week – way to go!
We began Book It Reading Logs where students will receive a coupon for a free personal pizza when they turn in the reading log from Pizza Hut. We passed out the Book-It Reading Logs for November. Make sure to color in your acorn each day you read for at least 20 minutes and initial.
Acworth has started its annual canned food drive, now through Monday, November 16. A letter with suggested donations went home last week. We would love it if everyone could donate 1 item – the school could collect over 700 items that way! Thank you for your generosity!
Tonight is Science Night in the cafeteria, 6:00 – 7:30. Science Fair projects will be on display, and there will be fun science experiments for you to do. Quentin and Alex participated in the science fair. Thank you! Hope to see you there learning some science!
Congratulations to Antoine – his picture won second place in Visual Arts for the Reflections contest!
Yankee Candle fundraiser packets went home last week. Students can earn prizes by selling items! Proceeds from these sales goes back to our school and helps us all out. All orders and money are due by Thursday, November 12.
What we are studying:
Reading – summarizing and comparing and contrasting problem and solution
Writing – finishing up memorable place narrative and writing an informational paper
Math – adding and subtracting fractions in word problems.
Social Studies – Great Western Cattle Trail, Chisolm Trail, Wright Brothers, George Washington Carver, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison.
