February 4, 2016
We have scheduled our fifth grade field trip to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga for Thursday, March 24. Permission slips and an informational letter went home last week – please look them over for everything you need to know. All permission slips and money are due by Friday, February 26.
Students who turned in their signed, completed January Book It Reading Logs received their coupons for a free personal pizza at Pizza Hut today. We also passed out the Book-It Reading Logs for February. Make sure to color in your ice skate each day you read for at least 20 minutes!
The 2016 Arbor Day Poster Contest is now under way! Show off your creativity with the theme, “A Tree for All Seasons.” All entries are due to the media center tomorrow.
We will be going to see a science program, “Dr. Kaboom,” to help us understand electricity better. Permission slips are in your folder today– please sign and return. We were able to get grants to cover the cost of the performance, as well as the buses, so there is no donation requested.
Business plans will be sent home next week to be signed
Some students have a letter in their folder about Georgia Milestones testing. The following is a link to a resource guide for parents: https://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Documents/Milestones/Study-Resource%20Guides/StudyGuide_Gr5_s15GA-EOG_12-02-15.pdf
